Description: The Wager section of the sports page allows you to place bets each night on games in other leagues.
One of the most unique features of Franchise Football is its wagering section. Each and every night you have the opportunity to gamble on games in other leagues. This offers owners from one league the ability to follow games and teams in other leagues while placing moderate sums of money on the outcomes in an attempt to make more money for your team. Please note, non-subscribed users may view the wager section, but may not place bets on games.

Limitations: There are a few limitations to wagering to try to prevent cheating. You may wager on only 4 of the 16 games in any given league. For example, league 1 may be able to wager on league 3's games, but, may only wager on games 1-4. League 2 may also be able to wager on league 3's games, but would wager on games 5-8. You may not wager more than $100,000 on any game. Finally, you may only bet on 4 games total, from any combination of leagues. This insures that you can't make or lose too much money. Once you have placed your bets, the ability to choose a game will become unavailable until the next day (the drop down boxes disappear).
In summary, the most a team can make on gambling each night is $800,000. The most they can lose is $400,000. This is intended to add some excitement to the game without breaking the bank.
The Line (Spread): All games have some Line (or point spread). That is shown to the right of the team favored and also tells what the line is. You will see one of two things. If there is an "Even" between the two teams, that means that if you pick the winner, you win. The label "by" and a number means that the favored team has to win and win by more than that number of points for you to win if you placed a bet on that team. If a team is favored "by 7" and you bet on them and the final score is 21-17 in favor of that team, you lose because the team did not win by more than 7 points. If the score on the other hand is 28-17, you win because they did win by more than 7 points. In the case of the team scoring the exact amount of the line, you get the money you wagered back and it is considered a "push". In the above example, 24-17 final score would be a push. A push on an "Even" game would have to be a tie.[View Sample]
Payout: When you place a wager the amount of the bet is subtracted from your money, starting with cash, and if there isn't enough there, from your bank. When you win a wager, double the initial bet is paid out to your bank account. When you lose, no money is returned to you. If a push takes place you get the initial wager back in your bank. Placing Bets: To place a bet, use the drop down list on the side of the team you want to wager on. Select the amount of money to place on the outcome. Check the wager to make sure it is the correct amount and placed on the right team. To accept the bet, click on the "Place Bets" button at the bottom of the page. Please note that wagers may not be undone after you click on "Place Bets". In addition, you may make wagers on multiple games at once, however, the total number of wagers may not exceed 4, and you may not place money on both teams in the same game. [View Sample]
Standings: To better aid you in making your wagering decisions you may view the overall league standings for any of the leagues with wagers available. Clicking on the term "League #" where # is the number of the league will display the current standings. You will not be able to scout teams here, but will be able to see where a team stands compared to the rest of the league.
Scouting A Team: If you click on any of the team names listed on the wager screen you will be able to scout their roster. Although you can't see a players vitals or see historical stats for a player, you can view their season stats. This should help you to make more informed decisions about wagering.
Wager Results: The day after you place bets on games you can enter the wager section and click on "Last Nights Results". This displays all of the final scores from the games you were able to wager on. If you placed a bet it will display the result of the bet (color coded), the final line on the game, and how much money you won or lost. You are not able to look at league standings or rosters from the "Last Nights Results" page. To go back to the wager page, you can click on "Tonight's Wagers". [View Sample]
Pre-Season Wagering: Due to the unpredictable starting lineups in the pre-season, pre-season games are not wagered on. This is when the league being wagered on is in the pre-season, not your league. You should almost always be assured of being able to place bets.
Post-Season Wagering: Since there are fewer than 16 post season games each night, each round (after the Wildcard round of the playoffs) will allow wagering on all games being played. The Wildcard round will offer 2 games to wager on, the Division Championship round will feature 4 games to wager on, the Conference Championship round will once again have two games, and the Galaxy Bowl will obviously be one game.
